Storytimes Around Town

Reading to children at a young age is linked to a better vocabulary as well as creating a stronger reader. So check out a library near you to listen to fun stories, meet other families, learn new songs, revisit old stories and create new favorites and book traditions in your family.

Durango Public Library Preschool Storytime

Durango Public Library Toddler Storytime

Ignacio Storytime in the Park

Pine River Library's Hopper Storytime

Thursday's in Bayfield @ 11-Noon

Ages 0-5

Join in with Ms. Summer for a morning hour of stories, songs and crafts. Let your littles meet new friends while getting to chat with other adults. See the frogs, Asmos the corn snake and play in the activities room - check out books and activity kits.

Durango Public Library Baby Time

Friday's @ 11:00-11:30

Ages 0-12 months

A lapsit storytime full of songs, fingerplays, counting, stories and playing for babies and their care providers.

Monday

The Community Treehouse 

Ages 0-7

10:00 am - 11:30 am - Mom Squad Support Group - Every other Monday of the month 

2:00 - 3:00pm - Baby and Me Group - meet other moms of babies 0-6 months (open to the community)


Tuesday

The Community Treehouse 

9:30 am - 10:30 am - Caterpillar Tots Group - Crawlers and young toddlers meet together to sing, play and learn on the lawn of the Treehouse. (members)

The Powerhouse 

9:00 am - 4:00 pm - Tiny Tuesday's meet up every week for younger kids to move and explore the Powerhouse.

Wednesday

The Community Treehouse 

Wednesday's 10:00 - 11:00 (Beginning in September) - Tumbling Tots, a music and movement class for 2–5-year-olds with songs, parachute play, obstacle courses and other gross motor activities to get little bodies moving and learn new ways to connect with your kids. (members)

Durango Cafe Au Play

Ages 0-4

10:00 am - 12:00 pm Baby Group @ Cafe Au Play


Friday 

The Community Treehouse 

10:00 - 11:00 am - Curious Cubs kids 2-7 stories, songs, sensory activities, art and other hands-on discovery (members)


San Juan Mountain Association

10:00 am - 12:00 pm - Family Hikes @ Andrew's Lake with SJMA

Durango Cafe Au Play

Cafe au Play is a place for families to connect, make friends and share ideas and play!! This is a free play space for children and their care providers located downstairs in the Christ the King Lutheran Church.

The Community Treehouse 

The Community Treehouse is a place for families to play, learn and grow together. Located in Bayfield and equipped with an indoor play area, co-working space and full of organized play and support groups for families with young children ages 0-7.

  • 7 Days a Week 
    • 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
    • $40/month membership

The Powerhouse 

Durango's Children's Science Museum and Exploration Destination

  • 7 Days a Week
    • 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
    • $9.50/person (12 months & under free)
