Best Parks & Playgrounds Around LaPlata County

Joe Stephenson

Is the biggest park in Bayfield with soccer and baseball fields, swings, playground equipment, a skate park, bike path, river access and a small creek with a bridge. The bike path connects over to Eagle Park and the Pine River which is beautiful in winter with ice or a fun place to splash in the summer.

Pinnu Nuchii Park

This is Ignacio's biggest park with a huge skate park, climbing equipment, basketball courts, swings, obstacle courses, a large soccer field and bike path up to the Sun Ute Rec Center. It's playground equipment is comparable to Santa Rita's

Santa Rita Park

Durango's most popular park by far. Along side the Animas River and the River Trail. Fields, sand volleyball pits, climbing equipment, a train to admire, botanical gardens, swings and shade.

Fasserbinder Park (Triangle Park)

This park is great for picnics with the big trees and lush grass, swings and climbing equipment. Public bathrooms open seasonally.

Jenkins Ranch Park

Located in the Sky Ridge Subdivision in Durango, CO. This newer park is full of all sorts of park fun. Picnic shelter, tennis courts, grassy field, a small and large climbing spaces and connects to the subdivisions sidewalks for a walk about.

Confluence Playground

A fun park in Three Springs with a great trail to ride bikes all through Three Springs. Small and bigger climbing equipment, picnic areas, benches, swings and beautiful location.

Those are the top choices for now! Get out and have some fun at the park this season. Remember parks can be a fun time no matter the season. When snowy wear snow gear and check out the frozen bodies of water and in the summer bring that sunscreen and some sort of wheels as a back up and a great way to get a walk in!
