As the weather chills down we start to search for more fun things to do - not only inside the house but outside of the house in and around Durango. Here are a few ideas of places to take the kids to stick in your pocket for just the right time - plus some are FREE or low cost which is always my fav!
1. Visit a Rec Center for the Day

2. Community Treehouse - Bayfield, CO
- 1st visit FREE - $40/month membership
- Indoor play space for kids ages 0-8, games, art, dollhouse, swings, slides, air hockey, art medium, parent education, support groups, free coffee, parent work time care providers and parent work lounge are just some of the things The Community Treehouse has to offer.
3. The Hive - Durango, CO

- Indoor skate park for novice to experienced skateboarders. They have loaner boards and helmets and a variety of fun drop in after school classes and clubs as well.

- Great place for busy bodies and exploring minds. Make rockets, climb to the top of the tower, learn Morris Code, break brain puzzles, fly in the flight simulator, see critters like snakes and a bee hive and so much more.
10. Fish Connection - Durango, CO

- As close to an aquarium as we have here in Durango, CO. Check out the turtles, salt and fresh water fish, crabs, snacks, lizards and even rats and hamsters and all the cool tank accessories.
11. Cafe au Play - Durango, CO
- FREE - Donations appreciated
- An indoor play place located in the downstairs of the Lutheran Church on Florida Road. Great for littles 0-5 to play, meet other kids and parents.
12. Burger King's Play Place - Durango, CO
- Ice Cream Cone Money
- If all else fails buy and ice cream and hang out at the Burger King play place with tunnels and windows - play places never seem to be dull.
13. Chapman Hill Skating Rink
- $3 skate rental, $8/per person
- Public ice skating is available M-Th in the morning or afternoon and night time disco themed skating is available Friday and Saturday nights starting around 7 PM.
