Fall is in the air which means pumpkins, apples, canning, sweaters, farms, leaves and all the fun things. We are a spread-out area here in Southwest Colorado so here at Macaroni KID Durango I have rounded up the patches and orchards serving Pagosa Springs, Bayfield, Ignacio, Durango and Cortez, Colorado 

This guide will keep updating as new pumpkin patches and orchard experiences are discovered. 

No matter which town you are in from Pagosa to Cortez and price that you can afford there is a local farm for Fall festivities nearby.

Orchards and Gleaning


Oxford Orchard 

Local fruit orchard toward Ignacio on County Road 513 has apples, pears, live music and farm friends Fri-Sundays. Bring a picnic or purchase snacks while your there.

Local Fruit Tree Harvesting  

Local community members have listed their trees that need gleaned (fruit picked) on a site for anyone to partake in for FREE. Pick your favorite fruit and set up with the landowner. Grab a ladder and read the spec on how to glean efficiently and safely!

Pumpkin Patches and Farms


Falfa Pumpkin Farm Durango, CO

Local small farm right off of Hwy 172 in Durango, CO that has a nice patch of pumpkins to choose from, a corn pit, train whistle and a FREE Admission Fee just pay for the pumpkins per pound. Dogs welcome

  • Farm Opens September 27th - October or until sold out of pumpkins
  • Free Admission - corn pit, stationary train, tree stump obstacle course...

Jack-a-Lope Acres Ignacio, CO

The big farm on campus with tractor hayrides to the patch, corn mazes big and small, snack bar and food vendors (Sat/Sun), bouncy jump pad special weekly events, and of course farm animals.

  • Admission starts at $12.95/person
  • Season pass for $36 this year.
  • Farm is open September 14th - October 27th
  • Friday, Saturday and Sunday 
  • 2 & under Free
  • Over 20 activities for families to participate in corn maze, hayrides, horseshoes, animals, barrel train...


James Ranch Durango, CO

James Ranch grows pumpkins of all shapes, colors and sizes - sales TBD - follow on Instagram for updates on pumpkins. Visit the market for fresh local produce, cheese, beef and so many other goodies local grown and made. Pick pumpkins dine in at the restaurant where kids meals start @ $4.


Fox Fire Farms - Ignacio, CO

Local grape vineyard with live music on the lawn every Friday night and then grape harvesting happening now (for the vineyard). Admission is FREE and picnics are welcome. 

  • Lawn games are provided and welcome.

  • Friday Nights 5:30PM - 9:00PM
  • Outside food and drink welcome


Jones Farm -  Cortez CO

 
Opening weekend is October 5-6, then the next three weekends we are open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 10 AM - 3PM
  • $7 per person.  One-year-old children and younger are FREE
  • Farm open through October 27th
  • Pumpkins $.75/lb & Winter Squash $1/lb
  • Hay maze, corn maze, bikes, wagons, concession stand and games
